Tem Aier
Operations Manager

Tem joined Tennis Gear in mid 2019. He started working at our Shaw Park centre helping in retail and managing the social tennis programs. Over time he gradually got more involved in the weekly fixtures. Tem helped run the Hot Shot programs and weekly fixtures during his stint at the Morningside Centre. Tem brings experience in business management after completing a Master of Business degree from QUT and having worked for a sport management firm previously. A big sport enthusiast himself, his goal is to create a sporting community for the centre where tennis delivers a social platform for all and where young talents are nurtured.

Cheryl Wetherley
Assistant Manager - Events & Programmes

Our Assistant Centre Manager, Cheryl’s, emphasis is heading up our large Social tennis and Junior programmes and working behind the scenes during our events and tournaments while also serving as the point of contact for Venue Hire at the centre. Cheryl is a local resident who saw the centre’s construction and marched in as soon as the gate opened, as our first new member. Joining the team in 2018, Cheryl’s dedication to the community soon showed covering all aspects of the business, including coaching both at Trinity College campuses & at the centre after completing Tennis Australia’s Foundation Coaching course in 2019.

In early 2022, Cheryl formally took on her current role and later in the year graduated from the inaugural Tennis SA Women Leaders in Tennis Programme. Currently undertaking a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management, she also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Gareth Keating
General Manager
Gareth has a strong background in tennis as a junior player, student-athlete, coach on the ATP tour and now in tennis center management  Gareth graduated with a Bachelor of Business Management from Indiana State University where he was on a Tennis Scholarship.  He has also coached for 5 years at the most successful tennis academy in France. 
 
More recently Gareth has proven experience building coaching and competitive programs and has a passion for sport and facility management.  He enjoys exploring business development opportunities that are able to involve sport and recreation across Australia.

Gareth has been with TennisGear for the past 10 years in a number of roles: Head Coach, Centre Manager, Director of Coaching, and now - General Manager.   He has been instrumental in taking a sports facility management company from two venues to six, over a five-year period. This growth saw the TennisGear full-time and part-time coaching and pro shop staff grow from 15 to 75+.
